Ian Venter established Tar-A-Way in September 2000 in pursuit of a lifelong dream and passion for construction. For Ian Venter, the establishment of Tar-A-Way represented the culmination of years of dedication and vision in the construction industry. His journey began with early experiences and education in construction, where he developed skills, knowledge, and a strong interest in the field.
Over time, the company experienced growth, with additional products and services being incorporated under Asphalt Construction Services, creating a group of companies.
With extensive experience in both the construction and production industries, Ian ensures strict adherence to the company’s quality control standards as a fundamental part of his responsibilities. His role involves overseeing every aspect of operations to maintain high standards, ensuring that all processes meet or exceed industry benchmarks. Ian’s expertise contributes to the company’s reputation for delivering consistently excellent results, fostering trust with our clients and stakeholders alike.

Since August 2013, we have actively participated in the Experiential Learning Program offered by Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT). Through this program, we engage second-year civil studies students, providing them with invaluable opportunities to gain practical work experience in their chosen field. This initiative not only supports their academic learning but also prepares them for future careers by allowing them to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world settings.
